Diamond Valley brings together Black Diamond and Turner Valley, two towns with a shared oil-patch history and a housing stock that reflects it: a lot of mid-century and earlier homes, steeper and more complex rooflines than a modern subdivision, and original wood fascia and soffit that have taken many decades of foothills weather.

The setting is the point. This is where the prairie stops and the foothills begin, which means chinook wind arrives with real force and very little to slow it, and it means snow accumulation is heavier than on the flat. Both matter for specification: uplift-rated fastening with particular attention at rakes, ridges and eave courses, and ice-and-water membrane well past the code minimum because ice damming here is a certainty rather than a risk.

Wildfire exposure is a live consideration in this corridor rather than a theoretical one. Diamond Valley sits in the wildland-urban interface along the eastern edge of the foothills, and the mechanism that destroys structures in an interface fire is ember cast rather than a wall of flame. That makes non-combustible cladding — James Hardie fibre cement — a genuine risk-management choice, and it makes enclosed, properly vented soffit matter for the same reason: open eaves catch embers, and a fire that gets into an attic takes the house.

Hail comes through on the southern foothills track, and the combination of wind and hail on older roofs is what generates most of our claim work here. As everywhere, the damage bruises rather than leaks, so post-storm inspection is the thing that keeps a legitimate claim available.

The Town of Diamond Valley handles permits inside the boundary and Foothills County governs the surrounding acreages and ranch parcels, with different rules on structure size and on siting relative to a well head, septic field or right-of-way. Shop and oversized garage builds are common on the parcels around town and we handle whichever applies.

Out toward Millarville, Priddis and Longview, the work is acreage work: big roofs, no windbreak, long eave runs and conifer cover that makes micro-mesh gutter guards worth the money. We schedule those as whole-site visits and check the approach a loaded materials truck can actually use before quoting.
