Langdon has grown from a small hamlet into one of Rocky View County's largest communities, and its housing reflects that: mostly newer builds with substantial roof areas, steep architectural pitches, and generous lots. Boulder Creek, Bridges of Langdon, Painted Sky and the surrounding subdivisions are now reaching the age where builder-grade shingles and cladding come due, and we handle asphalt shingle replacement, siding refreshes, seamless eavestroughs and detached garage builds throughout.

The exposure here is the defining factor. Langdon sits on open prairie with essentially nothing to break the wind, which means uplift on roofs, driven rain against wall assemblies, and wind-blown debris in eavestroughs. Fastening frequency, flashing detail and material choice all shift for a location like this, and specifying a Langdon roof the way you would specify a sheltered inner-city one is a mistake we see regularly.

It also sits on the track storms take moving east out of Calgary. Hail that crosses the city's eastern edge frequently carries through Chestermere and on through Langdon toward Strathmore, and the claims here tend to arrive in neighbourhood-wide waves. Because the housing is newer and largely on original builder shingles, hail damage on those roofs is often the event that triggers a first replacement.

Langdon is in Rocky View County rather than in a town of its own, which means the development and building permit rules are the county's — different from Calgary's, Chestermere's and Strathmore's on setbacks, parcel coverage and detached garage siting.
